PLAYDIUM ARCADE
IA Award of Merit
The Playdium needed to create a buzz for a club restaurant, but with a cost effective solution. Previous ideas were too expensive, and power locations couldn’t be moved. As a solution, designers proposed abstract shapes that could be transformed with lighting to let imaginations run wild. LED strip fixtures were integrated behind groups of fabric shapes on the walls to mimic the veins in a leaf, carrying the tree-like motif found throughout the restaurant. Circular top-like elements add further visual interest and depth to the overall design. Linear elements on the ceiling, resembling lightning, were also commissioned to usher kids into the space with bolt and flash effects. Imaginations are sparked with energy that makes the space exciting for kids and the young at heart.
