New sustainable illumination brought the beautiful architecture and artistic murals to life, with dramatic sculpting and previously unseen blues, greens and silvers, plus new sparkle that enhanced the gold leaf. Church leaders had preferred the golden warmth from heavily dimmed incandescent traffic lamps, and new 2700k LED sources provided that warmth plus full color rendition. Extensive AGI renderings and mockups perfected this solution, with dramatically reduced maintenance and energy use. The project maximized energy reduction incentives to recover almost 25% of the lighting costs. Dimming provides additional savings and versatility for this top visitor and religious destination.
