WISCONSIN CLUB
IA Award of Merit
This 154-year-old private club desired a sophisticated nighttime presence to highlight the ornate Second French Empire architectural detailing. Perimeter trees are also uplit with moonlight-blue to create a visual mask between the club’s relaxing lawns and nearby busy traffic.
The Belvedere’s extremely ornate gingerbread is texturized and silhouetted using six layers of illumination. LED strips mounted along minor roofs were the hidden solution to highlight this landmark. Strict historic guidelines mandated all fixtures and accessories go unnoticed during the day, including minimizing exposed conduit and hiding ballast boxes as architectural soffit elements. Beautiful architecture realized through striking sculptural lighting and naturalistic moonlight, creating a safe, yet classy urban oasis and romantic escape.
