This hip software company wanted a space that captured their young spirit of fun and intelligence, linking the building’s design to their brand image with an unfinished, eclectic, industrial style of architecture and lighting. As a departure from conventional office lighting, texture and sparkle were desirable to give young employees an energized “home away from home”. Designers played with interesting trellis shadowing, wall washing and light pools for texture and effect.
RLM reflector fixtures with wire cage guards denote the “information highway” that connects the main spaces and organizes the project. Conference room “façade” walls along this hallway are washed with linear LED strips for dimensional effect. Each conference room has a different theme, chosen by the employees, with lighting to match. In open offices, linear direct-indirect fixtures were arranged in seemingly random “digital” patterning inspired by their software business, but calculated for uniformity. The design accentuates the innovative, eclectic atmosphere, attracting younger employees and letting them enjoy long work hours.
